The United States Fire Administration (USFA) has received notice of the following firefighter fatality:

Incident Description: Assistant Chief Thompson died while on-duty from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Incident Location: 6600 block of 73rd Avenue Northeast (USNG: 10T ET 0787 2044)

Funeral Arrangements: Memorial service for Chief Thompson, Saturday, December 19, 2009.  North Thurston High School, 600 Sleater Kinney Rd. NE, Olympia WA, at 2 PM.
