Don’t forget!  The National Fire Academy is now accepting applications from fire and building officials for the first semester FY2010.  The first semester includes classes that begin October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010.

Wondering what classes are being offered and when?  Check out the course schedule online by selecting the 2009-2010 First Semester Schedule link at: http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/nfa/catalog/index.shtm

What’s it cost you ask?  There are no tuition fees for NFA courses. All instruction and course materials are provided at no cost. Transportation costs and lodging for students who represent career or volunteer fire departments, rescue squads, or State/local governments attending on-campus courses are currently provided as part of funding under the student stipend reimbursement program.  Your cost will be meals and breaks from our on-campus dining facility.

Applying is easy!  Follow the How to Apply information provided at:  http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/nfa/about/attend/apply.shtm.  Resident courses require the 2-page FEMA Form 75-5 application which is available for download at this site.

Application deadline is June 15.  Don’t wait!  Get your application in today!

The United States Fire Administration recommends everyone should have a comprehensive fire protection plan that includes smoke alarms, residential sprinklers, and practicing a home fire escape plan.
