The Emergency Services department at Utah Valley University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Public Management/Administration. Under administrative direction of the Assistant Dean of Emergency Services in the College of Technology and Computing and the Emergency Services Department Chair, the individual shall perform the following duties: Teach courses and assess performance in emergency services or public management/administration at the following levels of education, training, and certification: leadership and supervision, public management, emergency planning, budgeting for public agencies, risk management, and; Operate and evaluate existing instructional aides/equipment for compliance with course objectives and provide recommendations/specifications for new purchases; deliver courses to diverse audiences using diverse methodologies, including traditional and non-traditional students, volunteer and career emergency services and/or public management/administration personnel at on and off campus locations; Participate in the shared governance of the department and the university and serve on departmental, school and college committees; Performing work at off-campus sites and/or providing instruction through distance education; Advise students and supervise work experience; Participate in local, state, and national emergency services committees; Expand existing partnerships with Utah public agencies, organizations and support organizations; Participate in and report on personal scholarly activity in the discipline.
