The Nation's news media is reporting the following residential fire (non-arson) fatalities:
- 2 dead – Occurred Wednesday 6/10– Copper Center, AK (Anchorage, AK): A nine-year-old girl and six-year-old boy were killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Wednesday 6/10 – Washington, DC: A woman in her 40’s was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Wednesday 6/10 – Richlands, VA (Bluefield – Beckley, WV): A person was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Monday 6/8 – St. Louis, MO: A person was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The United States Fire Administration recommends everyone should have a comprehensive fire protection plan that includes smoke alarms, residential sprinklers, and practicing a home fire escape plan.
