Dear Subscribers of USFA Firefighter Fatality Notifications,

The United States Fire Administration (USFA) works in partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Local Assistance State Teams,  and others to develop initial notice information for fallen firefighters as quickly and accurately as possible.

Regretfully, the USFA firefighter fatality notice of 6/12/2009 @ 1518hrs, was in error. Firefighter Conrad Mansfield, Delaware Township Volunteer Fire Department (Blanchard, Ohio) is reported to still be on life support in a Toledo hospital and in grave condition.

I apologize for the error in the USFA firefighter fatality notice and hope for a speedy recovery for Firefighter Mansfield; comfort for his family and friends.

Sincerely,

Mark A. Whitney
