A viewing will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Wednesday from 9:15-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Plymouth Cemetery where a Fireman's Tribute will be held.

• 9 dead – Occurred Monday, 12/28 – Starkville, MS (Columbus, MS) – Six children and three adults were killed in a home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
• 2 dead – Occurred Saturday, 12/26 – Chilhowie, VA (Tri-Cities, TN) – A 64-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were killed in a mobile home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
• 2 dead – Occurred Friday, 12/25 – Louisville, KY – Two children were killed in a home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation. 
• 2 dead – Occurred Friday, 12/25 – East Bay Township, MI – A 76-year-old woman and her 56-year-old daughter were killed in a home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
• 1 dead – Occurred Monday, 12/28 – Edinburgh, IN (Indianapolis, IN) – A wheelchair bound 67-year-old man was killed in a mobile home fire.  Careless smoking was the cause of the fire.
• 1 dead – Occurred Monday, 12/28 – Helendale, CA (Los Angeles, CA) – A woman was killed in a mobile home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
• 1 dead – Occurred Sunday, 12/27 – Largo, MD (Washington, DC) – A 54-year-old woman was killed in mobile home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
• 1 dead – Occurred Sunday, 12/27 – Richmond, CA (San Francisco, CA) - A person was killed in a home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation. 
• 1 dead – Occurred Sunday, 12/27 – Quincy, MA (Boston, MA) – A 62-year-old woman was killed in a home fire.  A cigarette ignited the fire. 
• 1 dead – Occurred Sunday, 12/27 – Bellevue, WA (Seattle – Tacoma, WA) – A 66-year-old woman was killed in an apartment fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
• 1 dead – Occurred Friday, 12/25 – Los Lunas, NM (Albuquerque, NM) – A 53-year-old woman was killed in a home fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Incident Description: Firefighter Pierce passed away at home after responding to a series of EMS and fire calls. The cause and nature of Firefighter Pierce’s fatal injury are still to be reported.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends and family are invited to Clair's Life Celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro.  There will be a viewing for fire service personnel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Peter A. DeVantier officiating. Burial will be in Wellsboro Cemetery.

Incident Description: Firefighter Holmes was responding to a vehicle fire with injuries when the fire department rescue in which he was riding reportedly was struck by a privately owned vehicle that they were attempting to pass; according to news accounts, the rescue vehicle rolled several times, ejecting Holmes. Firefighter Holmes was transported by medivac helicopter to a Level-I trauma center where he was reported to be in stable condition, however, his condition worsened and he subsequently passed away from his injuries. Investigation into the incident continues by the Georgia State Police.
