The Nation's news media is reporting the following residential fire (non-arson) fatalities:

  • 3 dead Occurred Friday, 4/17 Holts Summit, MO (Columbia Jefferson City, MO):  Three children, ages two, four, and six, were killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • 1 dead Occurred Friday, 4/17 Upper Darby, PA (Philadelphia, PA):  A 26-year-old woman was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • 1 dead Occurred Thursday, 4/16 Waupun, WI (Green Bay Appleton, WI):  A man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • 1 dead Occurred Thursday, 4/16 Los Angeles, CA:  A person was killed in a mobile home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • 1 dead Occurred Thursday, 4/16 Lyme, NH (Burlington, VT Plattsburgh, NY):  A 74-year-old man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • 1 dead Occurred Thursday, 4/16 Mount Pleasant, PA (Pittsburgh, PA):  A 63-year-old man was killed in a mobile home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • 1 dead Occurred Thursday, 4/16 Batesburg Leesville, SC (Columbia, SC):  A man was killed in a mobile home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • 1 dead Occurred Thursday, 4/16 Georgetown, OH (Cincinnati, OH):  A man was killed in a mobile home fire. Careless smoking caused the fire.

The United States Fire Administration recommends everyone should have a comprehensive fire protection plan that includes smoke alarms, residential sprinklers, and practicing a home fire escape plan.
