DIRECTOR OF MAINE FIRE TRAINING AND EDUCATION

BARGAINING UNIT:  MEA Administrative, Level V

SALARY RANGE:  $44,729 - $73,931

DESCRIPTION: SMCC is seeking a full-time administrator to provide leadership for the delivery of fire training and education and certification in the state of Maine.  This professional management position oversees the planning, development, and direction of a complex delivery system that provides fire service training and related educational programs statewide.  Principle responsibilities include providing executive leadership for the organization and representing the organizations interests within the community and the fire service statewide.  Supervision is exercised over professional, instructional, and clerical support staff.  The position requires availability for a variable work schedule including nights and weekends with statewide travel.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Baccalaureate degree in a related field

Five or more years of high level management experience in fire service or related field Personnel management experience. Experience managing a complex organization and facilitating inter-agency collaboration

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree in a related field

Ten or more years of high level management experience in fire service or related field teaching experience Leadership experience as a fire chief or comparable position
