The Nation's news media is reporting the following residential fire (non-arson) fatalities:
Wednesday, February 10
- 1 dead - Occurred Wednesday, 2/10 – Bradrick, OH (Charleston - Huntington, WV): A 10-year-old boy was killed in a home fire. Officials believe a propane heater caused the fire. The mother of the victim stated that the same propane heater caught fire the night before. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Tuesday, 2/9 – Ensley, AL (Birmingham, AL): An elderly woman was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Tuesday, 2/9 – Cherry Hill, NJ (Philadelphia, PA): A 49-year-old woman succumbed to injuries sustained in a home fire on 2/1. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Tuesday, 2/9 – Batavia, NY (Buffalo, NY): A 57-year-old woman in a wheelchair was killed in a home fire. The woman was known to be a smoker and used an oxygen tank. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Monday, 2/8 – Salvisa, KY (Lexington, KY): A 67-year-old man was killed in a home fire. Officials believe the fire started after the victim attempted to re-light a propane heater.
- 1 dead - Occurred Monday, 2/8 – Little Rock, AR: A 57-year-old man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Monday, 2/8 – Claremore, OK (Tulsa, OK): A 57-year-old woman was killed in a home fire. The home had no working smoke alarms. The fire was caused by careless smoking.
Thursday, February 11
- 1 dead - Occurred Thursday, 2/11 – Knox County, TN (Knoxville, TN): A woman was killed in a home fire. The fire was caused by careless smoking.
- 1 dead - Occurred Thursday, 2/11 – Independence, MO (Kansas City, MO): A woman was killed in a manufactured home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Wednesday, 2/10 – Atmore, AL (Mobile, AL – Pensacola, FL): A four-year-old boy was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Wednesday, 2/10 – Tulalip, WA (Seattle – Tacoma, WA): A woman in her 70s was killed in a home fire. Officials found oxygen tanks in the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Wednesday, 2/10 – Somers, CT (Hartford – New Haven, CT): A 61-year-old woman was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Wednesday, 2/10 – Vienna, OH (Youngstown, OH): A 54-year-old man was killed in a manufactured home fire. Officials believe unattended cooking caused the fire. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Wednesday, 2/10 – Houston, TX: An elderly man was killed in an apartment fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead - Occurred Wednesday, 2/10 – LaGrange, NY (New York, NY): A person was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Friday, February 12
- 1 dead – Occurred Friday, 2/12 – Annapolis, MD (Baltimore, MD): A middle-aged man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Friday, 2/12 – Evansville, IN: A woman confined to a wheelchair was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Friday, 2/12 – Jones County, MS (Hattiesburg - Laurel, MS): An 82-year-old woman succumbed to injuries sustained in a home fire that occurred on Wednesday, 2/10. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Friday, 2/12 – Canton, MS (Jackson, MS): A 66-year-old man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Friday, 2/12 – Purlear, NC (Greensboro - Winston Salem, NC): A 68-year-old woman was killed in home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Thursday, 2/11 – Sioux Falls, SD: A 46-year-old woman succumbed to injuries sustained in an apartment fire that occurred on Wednesday, 2/10. The fire was caused by careless smoking.
- 1 dead – Occurred Thursday, 2/11 – Joliet, IL (Chicago, IL): A four-year-old boy was killed in home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Thursday, 2/11 – Heath, OH (Wheeling, WV – Steubenville, OH): A three-year-old boy was killed in a manufactured home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials are trying to determine whether the smoke alarms were working.

The United States Fire Administration recommends everyone should have a comprehensive fire protection plan that includes smoke alarms, residential sprinklers, and practicing a home fire escape plan.
