The Nation's news media is reporting the following residential fire (non-arson) fatalities:
Monday, March 22
- 3 dead – Occurred Monday, 3/22 – Reno, OH (Parkersburg, WV): Three people were killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 2 dead – Occurred Monday, 3/22 – Long Beach, CA (Los Angeles, CA): An elderly couple in their 70s were killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 2 dead – Occurred Sunday, 3/21 – Lowes, KY (Paducah, KY Cape; Girardeau, MO; Harrisburg, IL): Two men, ages 29 and 28-years-old were killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 2 dead – Occurred Sunday, 3/21 – Jacksonville, FL: Two men were killed in an apartment fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The apartment had no working smoke alarms.
- 2 dead – Occurred Friday, 3/19 – Chapel Hill, NC (Raleigh – Durham, NC): Two people were killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Monday, 3/22 – South Bend, IN: An 80-year-old man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Monday, 3/22 – Clinton, MD (Washington, DC): An eight-year-old girl was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home had a non-functional smoke alarm.
- 1 dead – Occurred Monday, 3/22 – Los Angeles, CA: A 77-year-old man was killed in an apartment fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Monday, 3/22 – Deerfield, NH (Boston, MA): A person was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Sunday, 3/21 – Gardena, CA (Los Angeles, CA): A 61-year-old man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Sunday, 3/21 – Oak Orchard, DE (Salisbury, MD): A man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home had no smoke alarms.
- 1 dead – Occurred Sunday, 3/21 – Cass City, MI (Flint, MI): A 27-year-old man was killed home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Saturday, 3/20 – Santa Fe, TX (Houston, TX): A woman was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Saturday, 3/20 – Chico, CA (Chico - Redding, CA): A man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Saturday, 3/20 – Lubbock, TX: An eight-month-old girl was killed in a manufactured home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Saturday, 3/20 – Frankford, PA (Philadelphia, PA): A woman was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
- 1 dead – Occurred Friday, 3/19 – Mesena, GA (Augusta, GA): A 49-year-old man was killed in a home fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The United States Fire Administration recommends everyone should have a comprehensive fire protection plan that includes smoke alarms, residential sprinklers, and practicing a home fire escape plan.
