Incident Description: Firefighters Bolick and Wright were returning home from fire department mandated training when the vehicle in which they were traveling was involved in a two vehicle collision. Both Bolick and Wright were killed and the cause of the accident is under investigation by the North Carolina State Police.

To date, 17 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2010; 16 from incidents that occurred in 2010 and 1 from a previous year incident. The United States Fire Administration recommends everyone should have a comprehensive fire protection plan that includes smoke alarms, residential sprinklers, and practicing a home fire escape plan.
