Incident Description: While riding in a rescue pumper en route to a barn collapse caused by heavy snow in the town of Spafford, Firefighter Marcheterre’s breathing became labored. An ambulance met the apparatus at the Spafford Fire Department on Route 41 and transported Firefighter Marcheterre to Cortland Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to an apparent heart attack.
